Corey Kilburn represents clients in a variety of legal matters. With over a decade of experience in business operations management, including extensive work in the entertainment industry, Mr. Kilburn provides a unique perspective when representing businesses, employers, and insurers. Mr. Kilburn practices in the areas of education, entertainment, and employment law, including workers’ compensation. Mr. Kilburn also represents clients in matters involving business disputes, including intellectual property claims, unfair competition, restrictive covenants, business tort, antitrust, and trade secrets. With his extensive real world experience, Mr. Kilburn knows how to bring numerous time and money saving solutions to everyday business problems. Mr. Kilburn prides himself on staying up-to-speed with the latest technology, trends, and news in the business, employment, and legal fields.
Before joining MVP Law, Mr. Kilburn graduated Cum Laude with his undergraduate degree in Law and Society as well as a Specialists Degree in Conflict Dispute Resolution from Missouri State University. While attending MSU he also studied theatre performance, obtained his mediation certification, and was the President of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Society. Mr. Kilburn was selected as the International President of the year for Phi Alpha Delta and also received the Missouri State University Star Award as Outstanding Leader of the Year.
Mr. Kilburn subsequently graduated Cum Laude from The University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law where he was named to the Dean’s List every year of law school. While attending UMKC, Mr. Kilburn served as an editor for the law journal The Urban Lawyer, a quarterly journal of the ABA section of State and Local Government law. Mr. Kilburn also served as a staff member on The UMKC Law Review. Mr. Kilburn authored and published a case note in The Urban Lawyer and also authored a nationally published Law Review article analyzing Antitrust Law in the entertainment industry. He was selected to the UMKC Moot Court team and represented UMKC as a competitor on both their regional Client Counseling and Negotiation Teams, and in his last year of law school, served as a coach for the nationally ranked Client Counseling team. Additionally, during law school, Mr. Kilburn served as a judicial intern and a court appointed mediator for Clay County and the Missouri 7th Circuit Court. He also worked under Supreme Court Rule 13 with the Jackson County Missouri Public Defenders Office where he assisted in the representation of indigent defendants in various criminal matters.
Mr. Kilburn currently resides in Springfield, with his wife, Krissi, and their two boys. Mr. Kilburn is heavily involved in the community. In addition to spending time with his family he enjoys golf, rock climbing, reading, theater, and film. Mr. Kilburn is on a quest to one day become a contestant on Jeopardy, and is also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
