Ellen Mathis is an associate representing the interests of employers and insurance carriers in various workers’ compensation matters.
Ms. Mathis obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2015. During her time there, she was the Senior Administrative Editor for the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice, was President of the Student Bar Association, and served as the Student Alumni Relations Ambassador. While in law school, Ms. Mathis clerked for Pech, Hughes, & McDonald in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She spent the first three years following her graduation at a firm in Sioux City, Iowa where she focused her practice on insurance defense and family law before relocating to the Kansas City area.
Ms. Mathis graduated from Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. She spent a semester abroad in Muscat, Oman. Ms. Mathis was involved in Student Government at Northwestern College. She also spent her junior year of high school living and attending school in Heidelberg, Germany.
Ms. Mathis currently resides in Overland Park, KS, with her husband, Tyler, and their cat, Schmidt. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals, and Sporting KC, and writing for Arrowhead Addict.
