Lawrence D. Greenbaum represents clients in a wide variety of areas, including banking, real estate transactions and commercial law matters, such as bank deposits and checks, commercial paper, secured transactions, bankruptcy, general business advice, and complex litigation. Mr. Greenbaum advises corporate, individual and government clients concerning their fiduciary duties and business tort and litigates these issues throughout Kansas and Missouri.
Mr. Greenbaum represents plaintiffs and defendants in lawsuits involving business disputes, including intellectual property claims, breach of fiduciary duties, restrictive covenants, covenants not to compete, and trade secrets. He litigates a wide variety of cases, ranging from the relatively modest to complex, multimillion dollar claims. With education and experience as a chemical engineer, Mr. Greenbaum has insights into many technical or scientific matters, including engineering malpractice and construction-related disputes.
In recent years, Mr. Greenbaum successfully defended investment advisors and broker clients in the securities industry against claims brought by investors. Through skillful interrogation in depositions and ability to focus on his opponent's arguments' deficiencies, Mr. Greenbaum drafted successful motions for summary judgment, disposing of securities fraud claims, Rule 10b-5 violations and punitive damages.
Because lawyers and other professionals are the object of an increasing number of claims, Mr. Greenbaum often defends other lawyers. More than 20 years of legal practice provides insights into defending legal malpractice claims.
Outside of litigation, Mr. Greenbaum represents clients in a variety of transactions, including acquisition and sale of real estate, financing real estate and other business assets, sale and acquisition of a company's assets, sales and acquisitions of company stock in a variety of companies, such as professional corporations, financial institutions, bank holding companies and small businesses. Mr. Greenbaum provides counsel to clients from banks to manufacturers in matters involving commercial disputes, bankruptcy and collections. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
