Olivia L. Banes
Olivia Banes is an associate in the Kansas City office, representing employers and insurers in workers’ compensation cases. She clerked for MVP Law during the summer of 2023 and, after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2024, joined the firm as an associate attorney.Olivia earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Social Work in 2021. Her diverse studies took her around the world, working on projects such as securing pre- and postnatal care for expectant mothers in Tanzania and arranging trauma-informed care for survivors of sex trafficking in the Philippines. These experiences led her to pursue law school, where she sought to further develop her complex problem-solving skills.
While in law school, Olivia served as a staff member of the UMKC Law Review and received the CALI Award for Excellence in International Human Rights.
In her free time, Olivia enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband, Tyler, and their rescue dog, Ellie.
