Jacob V. Welch
Jacob Welch is an attorney in the firm’s Springfield, Illinois office. Although he also has experience in civil litigation, Jacob now concentrates his practice solely in the area of workers’ compensation.Jacob has spent his entire career in civil tort litigation and workers’ compensation. Having spent the early part of his career working for plaintiffs/petitioners, before switching to representing employers, he has handled hundreds of personal injury and workers’ compensation actions, both on behalf of employers as well as employees. He believes in diligently preparing every case, understanding the goals and desires of his clients, and resolving matters efficiently and effectively.
Jacob previously served as an editor on the American College of Legal Medicine’s Journal of Legal Medicine, as well as a contributor to the Southern Illinois University School of Law’s Law Journal and an Executive Member of Southern Illinois University School of Law’s Moot Court Board. After winning an American Bar Associate Appellate Advocacy Regional Championship, he was elected to the Order of the Barristers for demonstrating excellence in legal writing and oral advocacy.
In his free time, Jacob is a local musician who enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, tackling home renovation projects, and playing tabletop games with friends.
