Joshua M. Lawson
Joshua Lawson focuses his practice in defending clients throughout Illinois on Worker’s Compensation matters. Additionally, he has previously practiced general civil defense litigation.Prior to joining MVP Law, Josh worked in both private practice and the public sector, most recently working for the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. Josh received his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was a two-time trial team national champion. He was also a recipient of the Rickett Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy and a semifinalist for the Paul Lisnek award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy while in law school. Prior to law school, Josh was an interrogator for the U.S. Army.
Josh is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Illinois College of Law where he has taught trial advocacy since graduating from law school.
When Josh is not representing the interests of employers and insurance carriers, he enjoys spending time with his dog, watching sporting events, and competing in various martial arts.
