Michael J. Owen
Michael Owen is an associate in the firm's Kansas City office and is a member of the Workers' Compensation Defense practice group. He clerked for MVP Law during the summer of 2023 and, after earning his Juris Doctor, joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2025.Before joining MVP, Michael received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Baker University. While attending Baker University, Michael was a member of the university baseball team, playing all four years as a catcher and infielder. Michael subsequently obtained his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law in 2024.
While attending law school, in 2024, Michael participated as a student attorney in the Washburn Law Civil Litigation Clinic representing indigent clients in various civil matters.
Michael is an avid sports fan, with his favorite teams being the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, playing golf, playing recreational sports (co-captain of the MVP softball team), spending time with his girlfriend, Taylor, and the family dogs, Charley and Penelope.
