Rachel R. Brown
Rachel Brown has been practicing workers’ compensation defense for McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips since 2003. Rachel represents employers and insurers in both Missouri and Illinois and communicates closely with both insurance companies and employers to coordinate the defense of workers’ compensation claims and medical fee disputes.Rachel conducts trials before the Illinois and Missouri Divisions of Workers’ Compensation and argues cases before the Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission, Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, and the Eastern District of Missouri Court of Appeals. She has successfully obtained defense verdicts at trial and upon appeal.
The firm’s Vice President, Rachel frequently lectures on workers’ compensation issues. She presents on both Missouri and Illinois statutory changes and case law updates to claim representatives, employers, nurse case managers, human resource representatives and attorneys. She also provides in person claims review throughout the year for multiple clients and believes that good communication is essential to ensure a good result for her clients.
Rachel received her juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she was the president of Phi Alpha Delta and a staff associate for The Urban Lawyer. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she was a member of the Honors College and received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication with a minor in History.
Rachel supports Kids Chance of Missouri and is a frequent volunteer at her children’s school. She and her husband, Rob, are avid Mizzou fans and reside in O’Fallon, Illinois with their two sons.
