*This post was revised after receiving notice that the mileage rate set by the IRS increased, affecting the mileage rate for Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Oklahoma announced new workers’ compensation benefit rates that are effective July 1, 2026. Illinois announced new workers’ compensation rates with various effective dates.
Kansas
The maximum weekly benefit rate increased to $905.00 for the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
The mileage reimbursement rate increased to $0.725 per mile effective July 1, 2026.
Missouri
The maximum weekly benefit rate has increased to $1,294.71 for TTD, PTD and Death for the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
The maximum PPD benefit rate has increased to $678.18 for the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
The mileage reimbursement rate increased to $0.695 a mile effective July 1, 2026.
Iowa
The benefit and mileage rate changes are effective for the period of July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 in Iowa.
The maximum weekly benefit rate for TTD, HP, PTD and Death has increased to $2,431.00.
The maximum PPD benefit rate has increased to $2,237.00.
The mileage reimbursement rate increased to $0.725 per mile.
Nebraska
The burial allowance increased to $12, 200.00 effective July 1, 2026.
The mileage reimbursement rate increased to $0.760 per mile effective July 1, 2026.
Illinois
The maximum weekly benefit rate for PTD, PPD, and Death pertaining to an amputation or enucleation of an eye increased to $2,045.63 and the minimum weekly benefit for the same increased to $767.11.
The maximum TTD rate increased to $2,045.63.
These new rates are effective from July 15, 2025 to January 14, 2026.
The PPD maximum for injuries not involving amputation or enucleation of an eye will be released in January of 2027 and will be applicable for injuries occurring from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.
MVP Law is monitoring the status of HB 5228 which will increase the burial rate if signed by the Governor. This post will be updated with that information if necessary.
Oklahoma
The mileage reimbursement rate increased to $0.760 per mile effective July 1, 2026.
