Shelley A. WilsonShelley Wilson focuses on workers' compensation defense. She defends all types of workers' compensation claims, ranging from soft tissue injuries to permanent total disability cases. Ms. Wilson consults with employers, human resources representatives, and safety coordinators on preventing work injuries and effectively reducing the costs associated with workplace accidents.
Ms. Wilson tries and argues cases before the Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation, the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission, and the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. In Atwater v. General Electric, she convinced the Court that the employee’s preexisting bilateral degenerative knee condition was the substantial contributing factor in the need for total knee replacements, securing a complete denial on behalf of General Electric. Recently, Ms. Wilson effectively defended Schwan’s Sales Enterprises, Inc., persuading the trial judge that no further treatment was necessary for the employee’s work injury and no medical hardship existed in Teeters v. Schwan’s.
Ms. Wilson authors workers’ compensation articles for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. She often speaks on Missouri workers’ compensation law, presents educational seminars for attorneys, claim representatives, employers, nurse managers, and human resources representatives and lectures for the Council on Education and for Sterling Education Services. Ms. Wilson has presented workers’ compensation seminars to the St. Louis Council of Construction Employers, to the Health Care Facilities of Missouri, and to American Safety Management.
A shareholder with the firm, Ms. Wilson volunteers for various civic organizations, including the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Kids Chance of Missouri. She and her husband, Jason, are University of Illinois alumni and are avid Illini fans. Ms. Wilson resides in St. Charles, Missouri, with her husband and two sons.
