MVP Law continues to grow their workers’ compensation practice group with the addition of two associate attorneys, Jacob Welch and Henry Haake.
Jacob Welch joins the Springfield, IL office where he represents employers and insurers in Illinois workers’ compensation matters. He earned his J.D. from the Southern Illinois University School of Law and has been in private practice for the last five years. While in law school, Jacob served as an editor on the American College of Legal Medicine’s Journal of Legal Medicine, a contributor to the Southern Illinois University School of Law’s Law Journal, and as an Executive Member of Southern Illinois School of Law’s Moot Court Board. Jacob was elected to the Order of the Barristers for demonstrating excellence in legal writing and oral advocacy and won an ABA Appellate Advocacy Regional Championship in 2019.
Away from work, Jacob enjoys being a local musician, spending time with his wife and three children, tackling home renovation projects, and playing tabletop games with friends.
The Kansas City office welcomes Henry Haake as an associate in the workers’ compensation practice group. Henry was admitted to practice law in Missouri in 2023 after earning his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. At KU Law, Henry served as a Legal Intern for Colorado Legal Services, Kansas Legal Services in Topeka, and KU’s Legal Aid clinic. Having previously worked as an administrative assistant at MVP Law before attending KU Law, Henry is excited to be back as an attorney. At MVP Law, Henry defends workers’ compensation matters in Missouri.
As a Kansas City, MO native, Henry enjoys Kansas City’s professional sports teams, especially the Chiefs, as well as his college sports teams of University of Arkansas and University of Kansas.
