As part of MVP’s dedication to the communities it serves, MVP has established a scholarship for Kids’ Chance that will rotate annually to each state we serve – Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Oklahoma & Arkansas. Kids’ Chance’s purpose is to provide scholarships for tuition, educational materials, living expenses, and other related incidental expenses for education to children of employees who have been seriously or fatally injured in work-related accidents. We also challenge other firms in the states we serve to provide scholarships to Kids’ Chance and provide assistance toward their goal.
In 2019, Steve McManus matched the firm’s donation to provide a second full scholarship to a student in need. While Steve wears many hats including Vice President of Marketing & Business Development, member of MVP’s Board of Directors, managing shareholder of the St. Louis office, and successful attorney, he has always made time to serve others in his community. Steve has been involved with Kids’ Chance of Missouri since 2005 and is currently serving on the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
In the past three years, Kids’ Chance of Missouri has awarded nearly $500,000 in scholarships thanks to fundraising events and donations from the community. Overall, Kids’ Chance Chapters have contributed $24,000,000 and served 7,300 students with those scholarships.
